Bruno D6666

Bruno D6666

Bruno was abandoned by his owner at a shelter in unhealthy conditions. We rescued him.He had suffered severe chronic ear infections and ear hematomas which were treated by the shelter vet. He got deep ear cleaning and medication. His ears will need time to heal while he eats healthy foods. Bruno is good with other nice dogs and very people-friendly. He is large but gentle. Loves his walks, good on the leash, and seems house-trained already. He is a sweetie and very happy now. More info. to come as he relaxes, heals, and learns at his hero foster home. He will not be ready for 2-3 weeks. Will need an experienced adult home with a yard.

Update 2/21/21: FH update. Bruno is doing great. Loves his daily 3-5 mile walks/hikes. His hero foster home also jogs daily, and slowly building up Bruno's health to go on jogs with her. He is a sweetie and great partner. His ears are slowly healing from chronic severe ear infection. Loves his food, smart, and affectionate.

Update 3/10/21: Poor Bruno had to go to our vet for 2nd sedation and ear cleaning.  Swab shows yeast. He got meds and ointment to continue treatment. In case it's food allergy, we have switched him to fish diet vs fowl that can cause inflammation in some dogs.

Update 3/25/21:  Sadly from neglect prior to the shelter, Bruno will need his left inner ear membrane surgical removed since it is still infected deep inside and hard.  As well as his left ear pinal (flap) due to severe chronic infection that has harden his ear and infected.  The many ear medications have not worked.  He will be deaf on his left side.  He will need a specialist surgeon to perform the surgery, which will cost us over $5,200, plus all the other vet care.  His vet bills will be over $7,000.  Bruno is s sweetie despite it all.  Soon, he will feel much better.

Update 4/5/21: Sad news. Bruno had his CT Scan on Sat with a Certified Surgeon. Report came back today from specialist. He will need total ear canal ablation on both ears. Will cost us over $10,000. Ugh!!! After this surgery, which will remove pain/infection, he will be deaf.

Due to his current foster home's upcoming vacation in 2 weeks, he will need a new dedicated foster home to guide and train with Deaf Dog needs. Another dog usually help the deaf dog. We have fostered and placed many deaf dogs, and all learn.
