Manny D6631

Manny D6631

Manny was timid at the shelter at first but once out, warms up and gentle friendly. Good with other dogs to hang out and people (for all handling). He was neglected, thin and had some mats and hair blocking his eyes. Manny likes someone around and follows his foster mom around (only gone a few hours per day). More info to come after foster home TLC.

Update: Manny had 2nd vet visit to check his eye that was watery. Vet did all eye test and all were normal. Turns out matted hair was touching his eye, so they shaved the hair around his eyes and now fine. For the past week, he has been having GI issue and diarrhea. So he had 3rd vet visit who thinks probably severe GI issue (either from food or stress of change). He is very picky eater. Foster home has been trying all foods and cooked chicken/pumpkin/rice, etc. As of 12/18/19, he is finally doing better but only eating plain roast chicken. He won't touch dog foods. He does love Full Moon Chicken Fillets. He is thin and needs to eat more. Manny is sensitive to change. Doing well with foster home's 2 small dogs.

Poor Manny's vet bills are now over $2,000. He had his 4th vet visit for more tests and they came back negative. He is now on stronger antacid. Manny is doing better with eating one day, but the next day won't eat much. His foster home is watching him and we are hoping quiet routine and new meds will help him eat and stabilize him. Donations are greatly needed and appreciated.

Update 1/15/20: Manny is now doing great!! He's on omeprazole and milk-thistle daily and he is eating well and feeling great. Loves his walks and adores his foster dad. He is good with other dogs in the household but may do low growl to guard his food or treat from another dog. Needs adult home for routine and no stress since his illness may have been stress related from shelter and changes, or he finally detoxed from vaccines or flea product (from shelter) which takes about 30 days to detox from. Some dogs are more sensitive to vaccines and chemicals. He's ready for his forever home.
