Arlo D5746
This Animal is PENDING ADOPTION.
Arlo and his siblings were rescued from a distant shelter. Shepky pups that were running out of time at the overcrowded high kill shelter. They were found dumped in a someone yard and hiding under the house. He is a sweetie. Gentle and affectionate. Loves playing, smart, fast learner (sits for treats), and adorable. Already have good recall. More info. to come.
5/17/26: Oh No! Please send positive healing to poor puppy Arlo. He was not feeling well for a couple of days. First we thought just common, upset GI from changes and foods. He had DHPP at the shelter on 5/1/26. Came to us 5/10/26 and quarantined at his foster home with Elsa. He went to our vet today and sadly, tested positive for Parvo with SNAP test and has low white blood count. He was super healthy, playful, very smart and love eating until Friday. Ate less but drank water. Sat: he avoided food but still alert and drank water. This am he was he was down and drank. Sun: refused any food offering. Did drink and had some Goat's Milk. His foster home is now driving him from Tama Veterinary Hospital to VEG Palo Alto for 24 x 7 hospitalization. He had IV and meds started. VEG Palo Alto have stock of CPM, Parvo Antibodies to give to him ASAP.
5/20/26 He is now in his foster home for home care. Still not eating but drinking water and bone broth. He is very weak. He is getting IV Fluids. Hoping he will recover and beat this horrific parvo. Donations are greatly needed to pay his $5,000 vet bills.
5/27/26: Arlo is doing much better now and eating! Yipee! He is eating home made chicken, rice and Open Farm Bone Broth. He should be healthier in another 1-2 weeks and will beat parvo. He is a super sweetie. Smart and well behaved. Goes to yard for potty biz. Great with foster home's 2 adult dogs. Arlo today. Sits for treats.
He is now eating his meals, loves The Farmer's Dog food, playful and smart. He will sit and down. Gentle sweetie.
