Simba

Sweetie Simba (watch my video) was rescued from a distant shelter along with 3 other pups on 6/2/22. Simba is friendly, quiet, cuddly and playful. He loved playing with the other pups at home and in yard. He will need an experienced guardian and home with attached yard. More info to come from his foster home. He will grow up to be a large adult.  He needs a home with attached yard for potty biz, run/play and lounge for his happiness.

Update from his foster home: Simba is a very cuddly, active dog. Loves fetch. Doesn’t take a whole lot to get tired and then will nap for a while. Then ready for more exercise and walks.

Update from FH: They have begun socializing to the sights and sounds of the real world and they’re learning that staying neutral to their surroundings gets them rewards. They’ve also started learning their basic commands like sit, down, front and focused heel. They also know to go into their crates, wait for reward and are crate trained. All are very well trained pups. They are ready to be your BFF and forever homes.

7/10/22 Update from Foster Home and details.  Simba and Rocky.  Toy drive: med/high. Food drive: high  Though from the same litter, these two definitely have a working dog mentality vs Alpine's pet dog mentality.

They train 3-4 times daily for 20-30 minutes each time.  Both of these dogs are very confident and need an outlet for their drives that's more than just basic training and playing, like what I do with Alpine! I've been starting them on non jumping agility (to save their joints) like climbing a ramp, using a wobble board to push their confidence and physical abilities, running through a tunnel, etc
They have basic obedience down and when that becomes solid, they should be moving onto competition and advanced style obedience to continue pushing their brains. I think we're going to recommend to potential adopters to have experience with dogs and a plan to either put these dogs into a sport or work! I've competed in obedience and agility with dogs before, so I know how to lure and train those skills.
If Rocky or Simba aren't fulfilled enough, they become frustrated and bored which often leads to destruction.  Must have time, experience and equipment to keep them learning and content.
