Sirius

The 6 Celestial puppies, 5 males and 1 female were born on 11/28/21. Their mom, Shelby, GSD/Mal mix gave birth to them over night at a distant shelter so we had to rush to rescue Shelby and her pups the next day.

1/6/22 Update: The puppies are all doing well, playful, love food and growing. Shelby enjoys spending time away from them and ignores them. She checks on them but won't nurse them anymore. They are weaned and eating. The puppies do play with the foster home's 3 small dogs with Shelby around and she doesn’t mind. Shelby prefers spending her time with her foster mom and her adult small dogs. Puppies are 6 weeks old on 1/9/22 and need to start their early puppy socialization. We are awaiting updated photos of each puppy. Puppies will be available for adoption when they are 8 weeks old and after their vet care.

We need 2-3 experienced puppy foster homes with back yard (to let out for potty training) to foster sets of 2 or 3 pups. Also need foster home for Shelby.

**Note: Adoption in SF Bay Area Only**

 Foster Needed for Sirius

Hi! I need a temporary foster home while I wait to be adopted. If you can foster me, please read the Fostering Criteria on the Foster Home Network page and fill out an online application!

Please read before applying for Sirius

Sirius is newly rescued. New rescue dogs/cats need about 2 weeks, or more, to learn and get healthy at their volunteer foster home to see their personality and needs. We will contact possible matching applications when Sirius is ready for adoption. (Most likely after 1/28/22)

🐶 Puppy Training, Socialization and Housetraining:

  • 12 weeks: Bladder capacity is increasing to hold up to 90 minutes.
  • 18 weeks: Develop bladder muscles to hold up to 2 hours.
  • Preventing Adolescent Problems (by 5 months): Walk daily and socialize to ensure that your pup grows up to be well-rounded and well-schooled puppy remains a mannerly, well-socialized, and friendly dog throughout adulthood.
