 Jelly Bean D4509

Jelly Bean D4509

Jelly Bean (Easter name) was neglected, dirty and matted. He was nervous at the shelter for first few days, but slowly warmed up to handling. He was fine meeting another dog and wanted to play. Enjoys his walks. Not treat motivated.

Jelly Bean had cloudy urine. At the vet, he had urine test, x-ray and lab work. He has Struvite crystals in his urine. X-ray was clear. Jelly Bean is on a prescription diet with increase moisture, water intake and more pee breaks. This is common with dogs that had poor dry diet and were not allowed out enough for pee breaks. We have seen this in a few of our past rescue dogs.

With healthy diet (fresh, more moisture) and access to yard, they all healed and no more crystals. Jelly Bean was neutered on 3/31/2021 and now relaxing at his hero foster home and doing great. When his neuter site is healed in 10 days, he will get groomed. He is untrained and need all basic training. Need experienced guardian and home with attached yard to continue healthy diet. More info. and photos to come. He won't be ready for 2-3 weeks.
