Aiden D4115

Aiden D4115 Hair/Color: White
Gender: Male

Breed: West Highland White Terrier Mix

Size: 24

Age: 11 months
Listed By: Furry Friends Rescue

St. Patrick's Day rescue. Our lad, Aidan, Irish origin meaning "little and fiery". Cutie Aiden was nervous and pushy active at the shelter. Once out of his cage, he is very excited and fast moving. Needs all training. Did fine with dog test and pushes to play. He is spunky, affectionate with people, outgoing and confident. At the shelter, he kept chewing and played tug of leash. With us for brief walk, he did not chew leash at all. He is very well behaved and quiet in his crate during transport and stops. Once out Aiden is excited and needs to learn leash training. Can handle him all over and pick him up. Loves treats and gave us kisses. Aiden is adorable!

He will need a very active and experienced guardian for long brisk walks/hikes. His foster home walks/jogs 4-6 miles daily. He will love the extra exercise and will be a great hiking buddy. Need home with yard and kids 12 yrs and up since he can be mouthy.

3/25/21 Foster Home Update: Aiden is rambunctious happy to say the least. He’s a good boy with energy to play and go for long hikes. He only cares about playing and getting loves. I think he would be best in a house with another dog and very active person who can WFH.  A dog that can teach Aiden boundaries. My dog has been trying but Aiden doesn’t take many social cues. He just keeps on doing what he’s doing. We are still working on the potty training issue. He has a lot of attachment issues. He goes a bit crazy when you leave the room. Sleeps well at night as long as the crate is in the bedroom with us.

Angelo 07-3414

Angelo 07-3414 Hair/Color: Gray, Blue Or Silver Tabby
Gender: Male

Breed: Domestic Shorthair

Age: 13 years 11 months
Listed By: Furry Friends Rescue

Hi! I was rescued when I was a teenager and due to my medical condition, I am a sanctuary cat at my kind foster home. I can be a busy boy. Love to tackle your hand yet usually you don't get scratched, I may act rough but am really a gentleman. Like to take my toys into the bathtub and run around; will "help" with mopping, sweeping, making beds, and will want to help you brush your teeth. Love to cuddle under your chin while you watch TV. I am Adorable and charming and want to be your best friend forever. Great with other indoor cats.   Full of personality and life.  He loves to play with his toys in the bathtub, and play fetch (actually brings the toy back to me)!

Angelo had been to a specialist and got confirmation of a Progressive Restrictive Cardiomyopathy and mild non-progressive cardiomyopathy.  The vet could not give us any idea if and when his heart would start giving him difficulties. Vet did state that someday when it does act up there are meds that will help for awhile.  Angelo will live out his life in his loving FFR foster home. .

Balto D7497

Balto D7497 Hair/Color: Gray/silver/salt & Pepper With Black
Gender: Male

Breed: Husky

Size: 45

Age: 11 months 3 weeks
Listed By: Furry Friends Rescue

Gorgeous Balto (hero husky) was rescued from a shelter where he was nervous first few days and needed time to warm up (Watch my video!). Once he felt safe, he was friendly with female staff but a little nervous of their male staff. Our volunteers, male and female, met him and tested him. He warmed up to both of them fast and loved all their treats. He was fine with walks and being petted. He is also good with meeting other nice dogs.

Poor Balto had severe ear infections, so he had deep ear cleaning with meds packed in one ear, the other ear has a membrane ruptured (needs to heal), and his neuter surgery yesterday. He is now relaxing and doing great at his foster home. Balto was really hungry and enjoyed his meal. He loves to play fetch with his toy and brings it back (drops). He is very happy now and loves rolling on the lawn. Balto is a sweetie.

More photos and info to come as he heals gets healthier and learns at his foster home. He will need an experienced active guardian and a home with a backyard. No kids for now. We need time (2-3 weeks) to learn more about his personality.

3/1/21 update: Balto was neutered on Wed by the shelter vet. At first it seemed like normal swelling from neuter. He was happy, eating and taking short walks. But as of last night, he was feeling really bad. He was rushed in to our vet today that kindly allowed this at the last minute. Poor Balto had a severely infected (very swollen) scrotum from his neuter. It was so infected with pus, that he needed urgent surgery at Tama Vet for scrotal ablation- removal of the scrotum, versus medical management with antibiotics. He is staying over night for hospital care. Balto will be feeling better tomorrow when he goes back to his foster home for extra TLC. He will need 2 weeks to 1 month to heal. Donations appreciated for his $1,000 surgery bill.

3/24/21 update: Balto is a very sweet, friendly pup. He is super social and plays appropriately with all dogs, no matter how big or small they are. We have a dog door leading to the fenced backyard and he enjoys going in and out to play in the yard at his leisure. Balto has many toys to throw in the air and play with. He also likes his kong toy, especially with peanut butter. When we are home, he lays down on the floor near me and relaxes. He likes to cuddle and loves to be next to me and to be brushed. At bedtime goes right into his crate. His crate door is always open and he may go in and out as he pleases. He sleeps through the night in it. In the morning he goes out to the backyard through his dog door to relieve himself. He has learned many new things, such as how to jump up into the back of the SUV to go to fun places. He rides well in the car. He is still shy of men in general and will back up away from them. He likes walks, but doesn't seem to want to go on long walks and will often just sit down to watch something of interest to him. He's overall a super gentle, loving pup.

4/5/21 Update: Dog savvy/experienced kids 12 yrs+ and he just needs time to warm up with men.

Bruno D6666

Bruno D6666 Hair/Color: Tan/yellow/fawn With Black
Gender: Male

Breed: German Shepherd Mix

Size: 95

Age: 4 years 2 months
Listed By: Furry Friends Rescue

Bruno was abandoned by his owner at a shelter in unhealthy conditions. We rescued him.He had suffered severe chronic ear infections and ear hematomas which were treated by the shelter vet. He got deep ear cleaning and medication. His ears will need time to heal while he eats healthy foods. Bruno is good with other nice dogs and very people-friendly. He is large but gentle. Loves his walks, good on the leash, and seems house-trained already. He is a sweetie and very happy now. More info. to come as he relaxes, heals, and learns at his hero foster home. He will not be ready for 2-3 weeks. Will need an experienced adult home with a yard.

Update 2/21/21: FH update. Bruno is doing great. Loves his daily 3-5 mile walks/hikes. His hero foster home also jogs daily, and slowly building up Bruno's health to go on jogs with her. He is a sweetie and great partner. His ears are slowly healing from chronic severe ear infection. Loves his food, smart, and affectionate.

Update 3/10/21: Poor Bruno had to go to our vet for 2nd sedation and ear cleaning.  Swab shows yeast. He got meds and ointment to continue treatment. In case it's food allergy, we have switched him to fish diet vs fowl that can cause inflammation in some dogs.

Update 3/25/21:  Sadly from neglect prior to the shelter, Bruno will need his left inner ear membrane surgical removed since it is still infected deep inside and hard.  As well as his left ear pinal (flap) due to severe chronic infection that has harden his ear and infected.  The many ear medications have not worked.  He will be deaf on his left side.  He will need a specialist surgeon to perform the surgery, which will cost us over $5,200, plus all the other vet care.  His vet bills will be over $7,000.  Bruno is s sweetie despite it all.  Soon, he will feel much better.

Update 4/5/21: Sad news. Bruno had his CT Scan on Sat with a Certified Surgeon. Report came back today from specialist. He will need total ear canal ablation on both ears. Will cost us over $10,000. Ugh!!! After this surgery, which will remove pain/infection, he will be deaf.

Due to his current foster home's upcoming vacation in 2 weeks, he will need a new dedicated foster home to guide and train with Deaf Dog needs. Another dog usually help the deaf dog. We have fostered and placed many deaf dogs, and all learn.

Daisy D5084 Hair/Color: Tan/yellow/fawn With White
Gender: Female

Breed: Chihuahua (Long Haired) Mix

Size: 10

Age: 9 years
Listed By: Furry Friends Rescue

Daisy was adopted but due to her guardian's declining elder health and lack of funds for vet care, she returned Daisy due to her diagnosis of diabetes (need more vet care, tests, and medications), she was returned back to us. Daisy was very sick in Dec. 2017 and her foster home rushed her to emergency for hospital care. Poor Daisy had 3 days of IV and hospital care to save her. She is now a Sanctuary Dog at her hero foster home. Daisy now needs twice daily doses of injected insulin and periodic blood/urine/lab tests and needs to be monitoring for the rest of her life. So far her vet costs exceed $1,300.00 which her foster home covered. They are her angels and heroes to care for her and all her medical needs.

We took in Daisy last minute from a very crowded shelter on 10/28/14. She is very sweet and friendly. Great with other dogs and easy going. Daisy was covered with fleas and treated/bathed. She has bad teeth and will get her dental on Monday. Meanwhile, she is now relaxing at her wonderful foster home and getting TLC.

Eclair 12-4202

Eclair 12-4202 Hair/Color: White (mostly)
Gender: Female

Breed: Domestic Shorthair / Siamese Mix

Age: 6 months 1 week
Listed By: Furry Friends Rescue

Eclair 12-4202 (DOB 10/4/2020) - Chocolate Point Siamese Mix with White

Eclair and her sister, Pudding, are being offered for adoption as a bonded pair. Eclair has a really big, cute chocolate-colored nose. And Pudding has a lot of orange on her face that's mixed in with the brown stripes. They depend a great deal on one another. So it's important that they find a home together. They were rescued from a backyard when they were about 2-months-old. And although they have been socialized with humans, they do retain some feral qualities. Pudding loves to sit on your lap--forever. So keep a book with you in order to keep yourself occupied. And Eclair loves to play with your hands when you're working out on the elliptical rider--even though you're supposed to be focusing on getting your heart rate up. As friendly and sweet as they tend to be, they can turn into frightened cats at a moment's notice. As a result, they will need a great amount of time and patience in order to adapt to a new home. The amount of time and patience really can't be overstated. So it's crucial that their adopters wish to offer them a safe, loving, and permanent home with the understanding that they won't be the easiest kitties to welcome at first. In the end, however, they just might be totally worth it!

Frankie D7048 (was D2682

Frankie D7048 (was D2682 Hair/Color: Red
Gender: Female

Breed: Pit Bull Terrier

Size: 40

Age: 11 years 11 months
Listed By: Furry Friends Rescue

Frankie came into FFR on 6/8/11 for our help to find her a new adoption home. Frankie is a very special dog. She comes from an abusive past and has flourished despite her past treatment.  She is very curious yet cautious of new experiences.  She does have high prey drive to other dogs and needs to be on leash at all times for control outside of her home.  She has learned to play with toys and sleep in her crate.  She is very smart and tries to avoid when she knows it’s time to do something she doesn’t want to do, so we are working on her obedience manners.  Frankie hasn’t had a lot of attention in her short life, so she is very reluctant to let you stop petting her.  With supervision, she ignored the foster home's cat & fine with same size male dog. Frankie needs a very experienced pack leader guardian to train her. Adult home. No kids.

Update: Frankie is doing great at her trainer/boarding home. She went out for a social walk at a park and streets, and she was great meeting new people. She ignored other barking dogs but did bark at dogs at a store. She needs a forever very experienced home.  Best as the only dog to continue her training.  We are paying for her boarding with a trainer/boarding home.

9/30/20 update: Finally, Frankie is in an experienced foster home for her golden years.  Doing great.

Gibby (GA)

Gibby (GA) Hair/Color: Gray/silver/salt & Pepper With White
Gender: Male

Breed: Siberian Husky Mix

Size: 77

Age: 2 years 3 months
Listed By: Furry Friends Rescue

Gibby is very friendly with people, likes car rides, going on walks and runs and taking naps. He is good in the house and prefers to be inside during the day. He is house trained and exhibits no destructive behavior to belongings or furniture. He likes to be with people all day. He has had no signs of aggression when I've had him. He is a gentle guy and very trainable. He knows "sit" and "leave it" and is very obedient. Best to be homed as a single dog or with a well adjusted friendly large dog.

Gibson's exercise needs are low maintenance for his breed. He will sleep at your feet while you work from home or watch you cook and do chores. He has gone out dining and out shopping- he loves to meet people. I work full time and take him out in the evenings and mornings and that seems to be enough to keep him satisfied. He would be a great companion. I suspect he would like to run around with another furry companion if I had one for him. He plays with other friendly big dogs at the dog park! Gibby has growled at other dogs when approached by other dogs while he is on leash, but has since shown improvement . He now attends doggy daycare and plays great with all the other dogs. He likes most dogs, but especially females.

He does have separation anxiety but is manageable because he just wants a person with him. I hardly ever leave him alone except for short periods (10-15 minutes), but mainly lots of barking and trying to go through door or window to get to me. When left in the backyard for some time while knowing you're inside ( I watch him from a large window ) he will sleep by the door. He mainly wants to be by you. If there is another human out there, he will follow them though- very friendly. He could benefit from crate training, but I think it will take time. I have a crate for him and we are working on it. He wanted to get out when I put him in. Lots of barking when left alone even for short periods of time, He needs a human to feel secure- not necessarily the owner. He stays at a relative's house when I run errands and he does really well! He gets a little sad, but no barking and warms up to who are with him.

He presents a prey drive - someone familiar with the husky breed will be a great match! No small animals, cats, or rural areas near livestock.

Gibby needs a home that has some prior dog experience.

Kids 10+. He can be a little mouthy (not in an aggressive way) when you play with him. He also jumps a little when excited to see you and could knock down a small child. Older children and/or calm children who have lived with a dog would probably be best. Gibby can get a little anxious around hyperactivity.

We are helping Gibby's current guardian to rehome him. Please fill out our online application and we will forward to them. Adoption fee would be minimum $100 donation to Furry Friends Rescue. If you have specific questions please send them through and we will put you in touch with his current guardian.

Jelly Bean D4509

PENDING ADOPTION

Hair/Color: Black
Gender: Male

Breed: Miniature Poodle Mix

Size: 15

Age: 3 years
Listed By: Furry Friends Rescue

Jelly Bean (Easter name) was neglected, dirty and matted. He was nervous at the shelter for first few days, but slowly warmed up to handling. He was fine meeting another dog and wanted to play. Enjoys his walks. Not treat motivated.

Jelly Bean had cloudy urine. At the vet, he had urine test, x-ray and lab work. He has Struvite crystals in his urine. X-ray was clear. Jelly Bean is on a prescription diet with increase moisture, water intake and more pee breaks. This is common with dogs that had poor dry diet and were not allowed out enough for pee breaks. We have seen this in a few of our past rescue dogs.

With healthy diet (fresh, more moisture) and access to yard, they all healed and no more crystals. Jelly Bean was neutered on 3/31/2021 and now relaxing at his hero foster home and doing great. When his neuter site is healed in 10 days, he will get groomed. He is untrained and need all basic training. Need experienced guardian and home with attached yard to continue healthy diet. More info. and photos to come. He won't be ready for 2-3 weeks.

He doesn't like to be held or grabbed, but you can tell he loves when you rub his belly by purring. He is also curious and loves playing with any toy you give him.   He will run to you if you call his name, very smart and lovely boy.  Jerry prefers being friends with female cats vs other male cats.

Gender: Male

Breed: Labrador Retriever Mix

Size: 36

Age: 2 years

Jo Jo's time was up from a remote crowded shelter. He was very scared when he was a stray on the streets and Animal Control used a catch pole to corner/catch him on 3/3/21. Jo Jo was scared at the shelter at first but with time, he relaxed and now good with staff he knows. Jo Jo comes up to front of cage for treats. Goes out to playyard and is happy. Dogs at this shelter don't get out much due to high numbers of dogs there and not enough staff. He loves to play ball. He needs basic training, was scared of leash at first from cage and would back away but slowly learned he was ok to walk out. Jo Jo can be mouthy to play (no pressure, just happy) and met/sniffed another female dog. Female dog was nervous and walked away, and he left her alone. Treat motivated. During transport pick up, he got skittish and tried to bolt from transporters (a lady and a man), but once shelter staff helped them get him into their crate, he settled and was fine during ride. He seemed nervous of the man. At his experienced foster home, he is now fine walking around and being guided on leash with the men. Taking treats. Still nervous but warming up. He needs basic training, time to heal from his surgery on 3/23/21 and time to feel safe (2-3 weeks). He is in a foster to adoption home so not available unless he does not work out with them. JoJo needs WFH guardian and very experienced adults. No kids. Home with yard. More info. to come as he learns at his hero foster home.

Good with other dogs she knows, but can be dog dominate with some dogs when she was at doggie day care or strange dogs on walks.  In her temp foster home, she was not good with female GSD that was off leash and ran up to her. Katniss needs a very experienced guardian to guide and continue her training. She had a mild ear infection which was treated and she is fine now.  Needs experienced guardian for training and exercise with no other dog and someone that understands that not all dogs are social butterflies.  Katniss is loyal and bonds to her guardian, and prefers to be the only dog.  No dog parks.  Katniss would be a great best friend and hiking buddy!

Prior to temp., foster home.  Katniss was doing well at her boarding & trainer's home.  She is smart, loves attention of people she bonds to and has been good with their other dogs with trainer supervision.  They have high GSD training experience to watch body language and their GSD are well trained.

In a temp. foster home, she adjusted and became affectionate.  Loves her home life, relaxing, hanging out with her people, toys, treats, uses a doggie door and large yard.  Pulls on leash hard and she is strong.  But now she prefers to be the only dog and good with people she knows. Loves treats and knows "Sit" command.  With visitors, she needs time to warm up before she will trust them.  She needs a very experienced adult home for basic quiet walks, routine, home with backyard and experienced/confident adult guardian with GSD to give her time (2-3 weeks to adjust).

She is sensitive to change. Phobic of change due to early spay.  At her foster home, she was good with mom and 2 sons (17 & 20 yrs), but leary of the father.  At their home, she loved belly rubs, lounging on the sofa, quiet, and light ball play.  When she is unsure of a person (husband or strangers), she will bark or do low growl.  On walks, she would look at other people or dogs in the distance and did not bark.  Does not bark at neighbor's dog from fence, nor a squirrel that yaps at her.  She just watches.

Update:  She is now in a very experienced foster home dealing with behavior issue dogs with no other dog at home to work with her.  She is fearful, phobic and very emotionally sensitive of change (more so then other dogs).  Takes her days to weeks to adjust, won't eat or drink, hides in her crate, fearful, and holds her potty biz.  Once she gets over her phobic fear stage in 5 days, she does relaxes and is normal.  Loves belly rubs, lovable, loves being petted, gives kisses, will lounge, watch TV, follow and being brushed.  She loves kong on rope, squeaky or wobbly motion toys and chase after ball.  Katniss loves cheese, chicken, beef, and some fruit.  She is very strong on leash and wants to hunt for cats or small critters on walks, thus she goes into hunt mode.  She has very high prey drive to cats and small critters.  Once she sees a prey, she is very stubborn, ignores treats, and will not listen to corrections.   Foster home has to be very strong to hold her leash.  She is a huntress.   At home, she is very good at relaxing, will watch TV, playing with squeaky toys, very sweet, will give kisses and a buddy.  For now, she is a sanctuary dog unless someone can deal with her behavior issues, strength and high prey drive.

Breed: Border Collie / Spaniel

Size: 47.

Age: 11 months 1 week
Listed By: Furry Friends Rescue

Kowboy was nervous and dirty with burrs in his coat when he arrived at the shelter. At first he was nervous at the shelter and then warmed up, especially when out with other dogs. Once he felt safe he was very sweet, friendly, playful and loves attention. Moderately active. Fine in crate during transport and loves treats. He is already doing zoomies at his foster home's yard and is very happy. Giving his foster mom kisses. He needs basic training, dog play time/socials and daily exercise. Need experienced home with yard and another dog at home.  Kowboy is adorable!

Foster Home Update: Kowboy is a special boy who will become your best friend very quickly. He enjoys snuggling and would love to lay by your side. He can also entertain himself by tossing his toys around. He is playful but also spends time just hanging out and relaxing. He enjoys going into his crate and sleeping. He's still an adolescent, but he doesn't destroy things in the home and is very well behaved. He loves dogs and enjoys romping around with them. He is polite when meeting dogs. We don't know how would do living with a cat, but he would love and prefer to live with another dog.

He walks nicely on leash and enjoys his sniff walks in the park. He is happy to make new human friends but he isn't going to run up to you and jump on you. It will take him a few minutes before he wants to be petted. He has seen a few visitors come in to his foster home and he was a bit cautious, but he warms up. He is such a lovable dog who is easy to fall in love with.  Kowboy loves going to dog socials.  He is fine being left home alone with another dog companion. He gets a little sad if he's home all by himself for too long. He is going to make his new family very happy.

Mika D4499

Mika D4499 Hair/Color: White
Gender: Female

Breed: Chihuahua

Size: 15

Age: 8 years 2 months
Listed By: Furry Friends Rescue

We rescued sweetie Mika from a shelter when her previous guardian surrendered her there. Person told shelter that she is 8 yrs, but we will need our vet to confirm with exam. She seems younger, maybe 6 yrs. She was sad, confused and nervous at the shelter for first few days, but warmed up to the shelter staff. At first she was nervous of being picked up, but after a few days, she was fine with being petting and picked up. Easy on leash and curious. Good with polite dogs. Already doing well on her first day at her foster home with 2 other dogs. When she met us it took her a couple of minutes to approach and take Full Moon Chicken filet treats. Then she was friendly, tail wagging, approaching us for more treats and being petted. She is a sweetie and needs a true forever home for life. Mika needs to eat healthy foods and lose weight with daily walks. Adorable.

3/15/21 Update: She sees our feral cat on porch and doesn’t seem to really care. She looks but doesn’t bark or try to chase. She is potty trained, she was for most part when she arrived but we had to fine tune in the last month. She is a funny dog, not big on much affection but does like to be close and sit on my lap. She likes toys, will chase after toys/balls, walks, and loves her bed. She does not like to be picked up unless she’s inside her bed, we call it her “elevator”.

Noah 10-4029

Noah 10-4029 Hair/Color: Black
Gender: Male

Breed: Domestic Shorthair

Age: 5 years 8 months
Listed By: Furry Friends Rescue

Noah was found in the streets by one of our foster homes. He was probably hit by a car and left to die on the streets. Noah was laying in the streets and injured for 2 days before our volunteer helped him. Our foster home took him in and rushed him to our vets. Poor Noah was skinny, sick with URI, broken pelvic and tail. Despite all his injuries and pain, he still purred when he was being handled. With vet care and TLC, he is now healthy, but will need his orthopedic hip & tail surgery soon. We need to raise funds for his surgeries which will cost over $3,000. Donations are greatly appreciated to help Noah. He is a miracle kitty! Fundraising page: https://www.youcaring.com/noah-491146

Noelle D6668

Noelle D6668 Hair/Color: Black With Tan, Yellow Or Fawn
Gender: Female

Breed: German Shepherd

Size: 50

Age: 5 years 4 months
Listed By: Furry Friends Rescue

Noelle (watch my video at the shelter and me at my foster home!) was neglected and thin when she was abandoned at a dog park. Shelter took her in and started her vet care. She had fly bites on her ear, was thin, had flea dermatitis, needed dental (worn bottom teeth) and overall unhealthy.

After a month at the shelter, her time was up. She had no options left and was getting kennel stressed. Thanks to our foster home, we were able to rescue her. Noelle is people friendly and loves attention. With dogs at the shelter play-yard, she needed to meet first and then fine hanging out.

She does listen to corrections. When finally out of the shelter, she did do excitement barking at dogs at a distance. We have to see if she was barking because she was excited to be out finally (after a month), or reactive to dog park. GSD do like to talk. Noelle did fine on walk and already knows 'sit' and 'down' for treats. She loves to play ball and will bring it back & drop it.

Noelle is now relaxing at her foster home after her spay and dental/extractions. She needs time to relax, learn and get healthier. Noelle is beautiful and smart. She will need an experienced GSD guardian. Adult-only and home with yard. More info. to come from her Foster Home.

Update from foster home: Noelle looks like a smaller, younger version of President Biden’s German shepherd, Champ!! She isn't the bony, skinny dog that she once was, and her coat feels nice & soft now. She is like a shadow- always moves to nap nearby her human and sleeping at her human’s feet in the evening, sometimes leaning on legs & feet (makes a good foot warmer!). She tends to be protective of her caretaker, alarm barking when her human says “ouch” loudly. She has learned to not bark inside or in the side yard at other dogs barking outside. She knows her boundaries of where it’s okay to wander inside the house, waits for permission to enter, and does not beg or act mischievous inside. She sleeps well in her crate when it’s time to go to bed and was housetrained from the beginning. She’s smart and has learned how to bow, wait, play dead, chase her tail, and touch designated items with her nose, and catch a soft Frisbee as well as already knowing how to sit, lie down and shake her paw. She's fine with having her paws lifted and wiped dry but is still shy of nail clippers. She’s treat-motivated, but she really loves playing fetch. She learned to not pull on her leash on walks. She is very loving to her caretakers and friendly to people she meets. Ear rubs and treats are tied for second favorite after fetching balls & soft frisbees. Bikes, cars, skateboarders, joggers, etc. don’t bother her. She does bark loudly at other dogs and cats and pulls to greet them. She needs a firm hand to hold her when she walks near unfamiliar dogs. After her initial barking and excited pulling and when her leash is off, she acts fine with dogs. It seems that she doesn’t react to squirrels, but it may be because she gets distracted by dogs and doesn’t notice squirrels. She loves going for a car ride. While she easily does up to 6-mile hikes on weekends, she is also fine with just sleeping at your feet while you’re at the computer after a short morning walk during weekdays as long as she can play fetch in the afternoon and get her longer walk in the evenings. Noelle is very much a companion dog who needs to be by her humans. I hope she finds her forever home because she has a lot of love to give and would make her owners her world.

Pixel 05-3854 Hair/Color: Black
Gender: Male

Breed: Domestic Shorthair

Age: 9 years
Listed By: Furry Friends Rescue

Pixel (DOB 3/28/12) is about as big of a purr machine as his brother, Chip. He loves getting attention from people and being noticed. He and his brother, Chip, were found living in a company parking garage. Although well-fed and healthy, the one thing they lacked was human companionship and socialization. Now in their foster home, they're learning all about the benefits of lap-sitting, petting, laser light playing, and overall adoration from humans. Since they are bonded, it's best for them to be adopted together as a pair. Although still a bit skittish, they are well on their way in transition from two healthy feral kittens to two healthy, active, and friendly in-your-face kittens. They just need a little more patience and understanding to complete their journey. Chip and Pixel will be showcasing every Saturday and Sunday at the Fremont Petco from 1-4. Come meet them and give them the attention and little kitty massages they crave.

Porscha (GA)

Porscha (GA) Hair/Color: White
Gender: Female

Breed: Great Pyrenees / Anatolian Shepherd

Size: 129

Age: 7 years 7 months
Listed By: Furry Friends Rescue

Porscha is a 7 1/2-year-old female Great Pyrenees/Anatolian mixed. She is a gentle giant. If she gets a long walk in the morning she is fine for rest of day. She was raised as an outside dog but can easily be house broken. She has long hair over angora fur and sheds in springtime. She obeys commands such as lay down, sit, and be quiet. She likes to be around people and great around children. Barks when she needs attention “she is loud”. She’s never been crated but could possibly be trained. She doesn't like cats or squirrels.

She is current with all her shots and has been spayed. During her recent exam, the Vet recommended teeth cleaning at some point but there are no immediate concerns with her teeth. He also made a comment that she has muscle loss in her rear legs. Could be because of her age, or not enough exercise. She still goes for walks just not as far as she used to. She would make a great companion for any family.

With other dogs she is shy/timid. One-on-one she is ok, but if meeting more than one dog at a time she is afraid.

We are helping Porscha's current guardian to rehome her. Please fill out our online application and we will forward to them. Adoption fee would be $100 donation to Furry Friends Rescue. If you have specific questions please send them through and we will put you in touch with his current guardian.

Pudding 12-4205

Pudding 12-4205 Hair/Color: Brown Tabby
Gender: Female

Breed: Domestic Shorthair

Age: 6 months 1 week
Listed By: Furry Friends Rescue

Estimated DOB (10/4/2020) Dilute Torbie with white.

Ripley (GA)

Ripley (GA) Hair/Color: Tan/yellow/fawn With White
Gender: Female

Breed: Border Collie Mix

Size: 45

Age: 2 years 1 month
Listed By: Furry Friends Rescue

Ripley is a 2 year old border collie mix. She loves to snuggle and is happiest when she’s curled up on the couch with her people. She also loves going on walks, playing fetch at the dog park, playing with puzzles and toys, and taking long naps in the sunshine.

Ripley is very well-trained and knows standard commands (sit, stay, lie down, stand, heel, etc...). She also knows lots of fun tricks (weaving through legs, giving her paw, speaking, crawling, rolling over, etc...). She’s leash-, potty-, and crate-trained and loves being around other dogs. She's very smart and easy to train.

Ripley will need a home with advanced dog experience. She gets anxious around strangers and small children. When strangers approach her, she growls, barks, and lunges. While she has never bitten anyone, she shows signs that she will bite if the person does not back away. She has also shown resource guarding behavior (primarily with high value treats and toys), as well as a prey drive.

Ripley would thrive in a home that is calm and quiet. She would do best with an owner who is active and can take her out for exercise at least 30 mins/day (or hire a dog walker). Although she is crate-trained, she gets anxious if left alone for long periods, so it would be ideal if her owner were with her most of the day. She will also need an owner who is patient and will give her lots of positive encouragement. Unknown how she'd be with cats but assume not good. No kids. Probably not good in an office situation due to her reactive behavior, but an office would be ok if there are no visitors, customers or guests.

We are helping Ripley's current guardian to rehome her. Please fill out our online application and we will forward to them. Adoption fee would be minimum $100 donation to Furry Friends Rescue. If you have specific questions please send them through and we will put you in touch with her current guardian.

Sadie D7452

Sadie D7452 Hair/Color: Black With Tan, Yellow Or Fawn
Gender: Female

Breed: German Shepherd

Size: 72

Age: 2 years 4 months
Listed By: Furry Friends Rescue
Hi, I need a temporary foster home while I wait to be adopted. Will you please foster me?

Gorgeous Sadie is dog and people friendly. Her time was up at a distant shelter so we agreed to rescue her to save her life.   Sadie was adopted from the shelter Dec 2020 and returned back to the shelter March 2021.  She was a backyard/farm dog with a pack of dogs that didn't get any training nor attention.  With the pack of dogs running loose on the property, they chased (prey drive) small critters and calves. Shelter volunteers that have walked and handled her, all tell us she is very sweet, treat motivated, enjoys toys, listens, and loves to be petted. One of our volunteers met her with their male GSD and she did great with them. Very social and knows sit for treats. She relaxes in her cage. Enjoys being taken out. We had shelter test her with large and small dog, and she was great with them.  Sadie wanted to play with all the dogs she met.

URGENT: Sadie needs an experienced adult home with yard. No other small animals or cats. Dog her size is fine. She is beautiful and ready to learn to be your hiking buddy.

Update from Transport to Temporary Foster Home: She is perfect sweetie! Friendly with all 3 transporters, gives kisses, and rode in cars well (2 cars), easy on leash, well behaved, and friendly right away with us. Sits for treats, listens and gave us kisses. When we walked her for a while, she saw a stray cat run in front of her. She was curious. When she saw a 2nd cat, she looked and ignored. She is now in a temp. foster home and doggie day care. Sadie is a great dog. More info. to come.

1st day update: She is sweet and playful.  A little unsure of the place, but very affectionate to both David and me. Good with the other dogs. Not great manners yet with other dogs, plays hard and very happy. But soft mouth when taking treats. She is learning. Fun and energetic.

Snowy D5051

Snowy D5051 Hair/Color: White
Gender: Male

Breed: Miniature Poodle / Dachshund Mix

Size: 16

Age: 13 years 7 months
Listed By: Furry Friends Rescue

Snowy was rescued on 9/29/14 from a Santa Clara County shelter. Snowy is a very gentle and sweet dog. Very affectionate and does great with other dogs. He is recovering from severe neglect where he lived his life outside. Due to his severe matting he ended up having many open skin wounds which are now healing. He is undergoing extensive rehab, learning to live inside a house.

FOSTER HOME UPDATE - 13 October 2014 Snowy is doing fantastic in his foster home. As the foster home states, "he is the perfect dog!" He does great with their dog and all family members. He enjoys going on walks and hikes. Since being in his foster home, we have discovered that Snowy may have a neurological/behavioral issue. He seems to be unaware of when he needs to go to the bathroom. He tends to soil himself without realizing it. Snowy was examined by a vet and all tests seemed to show no neurological issues. Instead the vet thought his issue was more behavioral, however there is no way to be 100% certain. The foster home has him wear diapers and it works great. Snowy will need that special person willing to take him as he is and boy will his forever home get so much more in return. He is just a love bug, loves being around people and especially loves to snuggle and be held. He is one of those dogs that has been through so much he now deserves his forever loving home.

Snowy is a Sanctuary Dog. Donations appreciated for his supplies (diaper/pads) & constant vet care needs (tests, x-rays, medications).

Please help us raise $8,000 for Snowy's recent emergency vet care, supplies and future medical needs.
