Louis (GA)

Louis is an almost 5 years old neutered dog, mixed breed (with huskies, shepherds…etc), and is about 55lbs. We got him from Milpitas Humane Society when he was 4 months old.

We definitely had a great time with him. He is well-behaved at home, healthy and a great companion to owners. Louis can stay at home by himself for the whole day, which makes things easier as we have our daily job. At home, he never caused issues with furniture and is well potty trained. I usually walk him daily for 30-40 mins.

On the other hand, he is reactive to strangers. Walking him requires some experience. We have been working with trainers so we learnt how to de-escalate in situations. Our trainer has kindly agreed that she can continue to give tips to the new owner. The same applies to visitors at home, he might be reactive initially, usually the 2nd or 3rd visits he becomes friendly. Louis has more than 10 friends who visit us regularly.

For dogs, it also needs some time for him to get used to it. We had roommates in the past and they have a Husky. It took about a month for them to get used to it. After that, they become great friends and live together.
