Phoebe (watch my video!) was rescued on 11/12/09 from Tri-City Animal Shelter (Alameda). She is friendly to women, but was nervous and fearful of men and kids. At her foster home, she learned she was safe and now friendly with men she meets/know. In a home with other dogs, she will try to be the top dog in the household. She needs a leader to set the rule. She will stand and beg for treats. Adorable! Loves sitting on your lap. She is leary of fast movement from strangers and may nip. She is ok around dogs, but will try to be the top dog in home. No cats.
August, 2010: Phoebe is responding well to training to correct her Alpha behavior. She no longer fears males and is friendly and anxious to meet new people. She does not resist or object to handling or having her paws checked by someone she knows. Groomers can handle her. She has done well in her socializing sessions with other dogs. She is responsive to conversation. She will do her best in a quiet home with an adult that is experienced with dog training and kind leadership. No kids.
